A double bun is playful, but it is also practical. The hair is lifted away from the face, divided cleanly, and pinned into two small knots that can hold through errands, movement, or an ordinary warm afternoon.
This version is intentionally simple: a center part, two high pigtails, a little texture, and a few pins. Five minutes is enough if the aim is ease rather than perfection.
What You Need
Use a comb for parting and light teasing, two elastic hair ties, and several bobby pins or hair pins. A little texture spray can help fine hair grip, but it is not required.
The style works best when the hair has enough length to wrap around itself once or twice. Second-day hair often holds better than freshly washed hair.

1. Part and Tie
Part the hair down the middle. Pull each side into a high pigtail, keeping the two elastics roughly even in height.
The placement decides the mood. Higher buns feel playful; lower side buns feel softer and more relaxed.
2. Tease and Wrap
Lightly tease each pigtail to add volume. Twist the hair as you wrap it around the elastic, then pin the bun into place.
Do the same on the second side, checking the shape in the mirror rather than trying to make both buns identical. A little imbalance looks natural.

3. Widen and Pin
If a bun looks too tight, gently pull at the outer edges to widen it. Add pins where the hair wants to open or fall.
Finish by tucking loose ends under the bun. Leave a few face-framing pieces out if you want the style to feel less strict.

When to Wear It
This is a casual hairstyle, but not a fragile one. It works for a day with friends, walking around town, exercising, cleaning, or any moment when hair needs to stay up without feeling severe.
The trick is to make it secure first and decorative second. The pins do the quiet work.
